New Zealands largest city boasts something for everyone with its urban culture surrounded by beach life. Food, music, fashion and sightseeing are just the beginning of excitement to be had from this city centre.

Bursting with award winning eateries, attractive beaches and day trips by land, air or boat Auckland is a true winning destination.

To Do:

Day Trip to Waiheke. This beautiful island is a 30 minute ferry ride from the CBD. With multiple famed wine estates this is a hot spot for summer days and a favourite drop in for visiting celebrities. Wine is not the only offering for this island escape, home to creatives you will also find hand made pottery, paintings and sculptures.

Food: With too many amazing eateries to list you can’t go wrong. Every culture gets its representation on the Auckland Food scene. French, Middle Eastern, Maylasian, Thai, Indian and so much more. Whatever you are feeling won’t be far away. Hot spots are Britomart, Federal Street, Ponsonby, Takapuna – but don’t limit yourself to the Auckland Centre, 30 minutes drive out west will take you country pubs with amazing outlooks.

To See:

Classic family attractions include family friendly Museums, Auckland Zoo, Kelly Tarltons underwater world, Snow Planets indoor ski and snowboard runs, beach horse and pony rides.

Looking for exercise you can climb most of the over 50 volcanoes, walk the wild western beaches (only very experienced and confident swimmers should swim at these beaches, always between the flags), or get into hiking – choose from rocky coastlines, sheltered bays, native forests, wildlife sanctuaries and wide countryside.

Also known as the City of Sails getting out on the water is a must. From Viaduct Harbour you can take a ride on a genuine America’s cup yacht, go ocean jet boating, take a calmer cruise or fishing charter.

Not to forget shopping, spend anything from thousands to dollars on great fashion fare. The worlds biggest designers have positioned themselves in the City Centre. Hidden boutiques with one off pieces and reasonable prices sparkle about the city. Shopping malls offer an easy day out with your classic clothing lines, cinemas and food halls.

Getting around:

In this sprawling city most locals drive but that’s not to say you must. An ever improving public transport system will get you where you want to go. Walk, bike, drive, taxi/uber, boat or even fly.

Like our greatest city, don’t let yourself be limited. Get out and explore, there are endless places to see and things to do.
